13 Days of Halloween--Day Eight

Hey stampers!  Welcome to day eight which really should be day 9 but yesterday got away from me.  I spent some much needed time with my best friend and godchildren.  So any today's project is actually something that I case'd from one of the many card making magazines that my sister subscribes too.  And then I tried to find the sticker that I happened to have on hand to see if I could find more to make more of these and no luck so far but I have not given up.  I printed the words on my computer using red ink and then traced it with a red glitter pen that I have .  The card base is Real Red textured card stock.  I sponged it with Perfect Plum.  On the "O" I added red crystals that I had on hand.  The count and the bats are a sticker that I had.  On the inside of the card, I stamped the "eat, drink, and be scary" but couldn't get a decent picture of it.  So what do you think?  Thanks for stopping by.

13 Days of Halloween--Day Six and Seven

I am posting two projects this morning because yesterday got away from me.  These two projects both use SU ink and card stock but the images are non SU but these cards were part of what we made for my sister's work fundraiser.  The top card we used Only Orange for a the card base and trim the main with Lovely Lilac.  The coins were stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink.  My sister actually made this one and she used her blending pens to color the monkey and the sand hill that he is standing on. The other card uses Green Galore as a base, the image is framed with basic black and I used black grosgrain ribbon on the base of the image.  The bats are felt stickers that were purchased specifically for this card.  These two were a big hit as well.  I hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

13 Days of Halloween---Day Five

Hey Stampers!  Tonight's project is a card that I was just playing around with.  The embossing folder is a Sizziz folder that depicts a "spooky" night.  I ran a piece of black card stock through the die cutting machine that cannot be named but next week it will be a BIG SHOT!  I placed my order today for it.  I am very excited about that....but I digress.  Once I trimmed my black card stock down to fit on the front of the 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Old Olive textured card stock.  I took my Encore Silver ink pad and ran that over the night scene to make it stand out.  Once I had a nice amount of ink on the card stock, I took a rag and smoothed out the ink and took up the excess.  I absolutely love the way this makes the embossing look.  I actually borrowed this idea from my friend Brenda that had used her silver ink to do the same thing on a smaller piece that she had embossed.  The line of bats at the top were punched out with a non SU punch on some black glitter paper that my sister had.  On the inside I stamped "have a spooktacular Halloween" with black StazOn.  The bats stamped inside were stamped with a stamp I borrowed from my sister and we couldn't decide if it was from a Stampin' UP! set or not.  So I am going to say that it is not just to be safe.  I might make more of these cards to send out.  I really love the way it turned out.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by.

13 Days of Halloween--Day Four

Hey Stampers!  Tonight's project is 100% Stampin'UP!  Some of the items used are retired. The main image and sentiment on the front of the card are from the Tableau of Terror which has been retired but I love them.  It is heat embossed with black embossing powder onto Tango Tangerine (last year's In Color).  The card base is Crushed Curry, The DSP is from last year's Halloween designer paper, and is stamped with "Have a Spooktacular Halloween".  The "eat, drink, & be scary" is attached to the back of the Tango Tangerine and pulls out.  It will go back behind but not very easily.  This is the first time I have tried something like this and I used 3 dimensionals on each corner and still did not seem like enough room but I will keep trying to perfect that part.  The inside is stamped with the spider and the definition of Halloween from the Eat Drink and Be Scary set that is in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog.  The 'eat, drink,.' was stamped with Versamark and the inside sentiments was stamped with Jet Black StazOn.   There is a lot going on with this card but I just couldn't help myself.  this card was not made for the fund raiser but I still wanted to show you because I love the Terror group.  Thanks for looking and check back tomorrow for day 5.

13 Days of Halloween--Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the 13 days of Halloween.  While this card is only partially Stampin' UP! and I can only tell you about the Stampin' UP! supplies, I think that is so stinking cute.  If you have lots of little people to send cards to this one is perfect.  The card base is Gable Green.  The image is framed with Elegant Eggplant which is very hard to see.  The candy corn is colored with Yo-Yo Yellow and Only Orange.  The sentiment and the candy corn are stamped with StazOn black ink onto whisper white card stock. I used the Scallop Edge punch to create the border for the patterned paper.  I used my blender pens to blend the watercolor pencils for the kitten costume and the pumpkin is Only Orange stamping pastel blended smooth.  Check in tomorrow for another day of Halloween cards.  Thanks for checking in.

Day 2--13 Days of Halloween.

Hey stampers!  Here is another project that we made for the fundraiser.  This is a Mummy card. I used large googly eyes and Only Orange that I punched with 1 3/8 circle punch.  The 'wraps' are made from Kraft card stock and sponged with Creamy Caramel.  The mummy is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  I trimmed it with Basic Black and Only Orange and then adhered it to a Perfect Plum base.  The directions for this card can be found on another SU demo's blog, Dannie Graves.  She gives all the measurements.  This card was the most popular at the fundraiser and we have had several requests for this card.  You can make the card with regular eyes using the punches but we really like the way the googly eyes look.  In fact, I think I should have set a web cam and posted our silliness on You tube while assembling the card using the googly eyes.  There many variations of this card.  I have seen some where the 'wraps' have a torn edges, or they are more white and gray but regardless of how you present him...this card is really pretty fast and easy.  We made about 6 of this in about 60 minutes because you can do a lot of the prep work first.  The actual assembly took hardly any time.  So check in tomorrow for day three.  Thanks for stopping by.

13 Days of Halloween---Day One

Today's card uses a retired Stampin' UP! set but one that I love.  It is called Tableau of Terror.  I love these guys.  When I got it last year, I tried many mediums for coloring it and didn't really like how it looked and then this year for some reason I a brain surge and heat embossed the design and I love it!  My sister and I made several different Halloween cards for a fund raiser for her work.  My sister is a nurse and her group deals mainly with psychiatric issues.  So the ladies that she works with decided to have a bake sale to raise money so that if they have children in their units over the Christmas holidays they can provide them with gifts.  My sister didn't want to bake anything so I suggested that we make cards.  I donated my supplies and time in exchange each card had my business card with it so I am getting my name out there.  Any way, ALL the cards that we made sold and we received 2 special orders so far.  They are having another fundraiser in December so we will be making more cards for that.   So this card uses the Tableau of Terror.  It is heat embossed with black embossing powder onto Elegant Eggplant card stock and I also embossed the greeting "Have a Spooktacular Halloween" on the side.  The ribbon was something my sister had in her stash.  It is a shimmery yellow and love the way it looks with the Eggplant.  The bats were made with the Martha Stewart bat punch.  Unfortunately,  the flash created a glare on the picture and this is the only one that I have but you can see the majority of the image.  The bats are punched out of high gloss black paper that my sister had on hand.  You might get sick of Halloween cards but I will post a new one from our fund raiser creations.  Let me know what you think of them.  Have a great weekend.
