I really am alive

Happy Sunday! Contrary to my posting behavior lately, I really am still alive. I was distracted by the Men's CWS and then I got a horrible cold...I know...it's summer and I firmly believe that the colds that you get in the summer are far worse than anything you could get in the winter....I am not over it yet but at least I don't feel like something that was pushed under a moving vehicle anymore. So today's project, is something I made last week before I got sick and am just getting around to posting. It wasn't what I planned when I started the project but I like the way it turned out. What I started with was, the Embrace Life set. I stamped and embossed the flowers on clear Vellum and then I colored the flowers, I had intended to do a stain glass card but that isn't what I ended up with. The card base is Cameo Coral. The DSP is Walk in the Park (which is retiring). I took the 5-petal flower punch and punched out flowers with the vellum I had prepared for the stain glass . I adhered them to a white piece of card stock with snail adhesive. Once I had them all glued down, I put Cameo Coral and Pink Passion ink over the vellum flowers. Then I took the eyelet border punch (that I borrowed from my mom) and punched the edges of the white card stock. Then I took the leaf stamp from the Embrace Life set and stamped in Versa mark on the top part of the Cameo Coral. I adhered the piece with the flowers to the base with Stampin' Dimensionals. I took the Silver Encore pad and brushed silver on the edges of the card base. Then I used my mom's Martha Stewart(gasp!) butterfly punch and punched some butterflies out of Raspberry Tart (which is also going to be retiring) I stamped Embrace Life in Rose Red on white card stock. I used the scalloped oval to punch out the sentiment and centered it in the middle of the flowers. I attached two of the butterflies to the oval and tried to bend the paper so the butterflies looked like the were flitting around. I am not sure that I love it but I think it makes a striking image. Thanks for looking and hanging in there with me. Remember that the new Stampin' UP! catalog goes live this Wednesday, July 1st. Lots of new goodies in there and I can't wait to share with you.

TIGERS WIN! TIGERS WIN!

You may have noticed that I have been a little absent lately. You were orphaned because of the Mens' College World Series but that is over because the LSU TIGERS ARE THE 2009 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Our regularly scheduled program will resume as of tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there with me and I will have many new projects in the next couple of days.

Madness too late

hey fellow stampers! Today's project is a card that I was going to be for the Midnight Madness sketch week 5. But I got caught up in the CWS game last night and it was late when I started and I didn't watch my time. By the time I got the card the way I wanted it, it was past the submission deadline. So I figured I would post it anyway for everyone to see. Part of my problem was this sketch really stumped me and I had a hard time finding inspiration and by the time I did it was too late. That will teach me to procrastinate. So enough of the jabber, onto the project. I am trying to use up my designer paper that is retiring along with the in colors from this year. So today's project uses Kiwi Kiss, Raspberry Tart DSP and Cameo Coral card stock. I used the level 1 hostess set, God's Beauty to stamp my image. I used some buttons from a bag of buttons that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I thought they matched pretty well with the Kiwi Kiss. I used the Rose Red and Cameo Coral Stampin' Write markers for the flowers on the center piece. I used Green Galore for the leaves. I used a sentiment from the Very Versatile that I stamped on Cameo Coral with Rose Red ink. I used the Scalloped Oval punch and used pop dots to raise it up. The fibers I used are from a Fun Fibers mix that I bought out of the Hot Spot at my local Archiver's. I used VersaMark ink to stamp some leaves and flowers on the Cameo Coral. Let me know what you think. At the bottom of this post I have my retired sets. These are sets that I am selling so that I can replenishment my stash with new stuff from the catalog. Shoot me an email if you are interested in any of them. If you are out the Omaha-Metro area, I will ship them for $4, US only, sorry.

To the Nines Tuesday

Good Morning fellow stampers! Finally a project and not just me gabbing! The card I have for you today uses a non-Stampin' UP! stamp (gasp!). The stamp is by Inkadinkado called Lighthouse. I found this stamp in the clearance aisle of my local Hobby Lobby. For some reason, it spoke to me and I bought without any clear idea of what I would use if for. Then Sunday night I had the idea to use VersaMark ink and Sahara Sand card stock. So I stamped the image in VersaMark ink on Sahara Sand card stock. I cut the image into 3 equal (or as equal I could) panels. I adhered the panels to one of the Always Artichoke designs from the To the Nines specialty paper. I will be honest when I bought this card stock I wasn't sure I was going to like but this is the 3rd card I have made using it and I really do like it. So my card base is also Sahara Sand. Then I adhered one of the Sahara Sand designs to my base and then I used one of the Chocolate Chip designs to create a contrast piece. I used some dimensionals to attach my panel piece over the Chocolate chip. I used one of the sentiments from the Very Versatile set. I stamped that in VersaMark ink on Sahara Sand card stock. Then I used another piece of the Chocolate Chip to frame it. I placed that piece centered over the Lighthouse and adhered it. I stamped "Praying for You" on the inside of the card. I was looking at it when I was all done and decided that I needed something else so I added 3 silver nail head stickers to the right top corner of the last panel piece. I love how it turned it out. I didn't intend for this to be a spiritual card but this card seem to really just create itself. Thanks for looking!

Weekend Madness

Sorry for the lack of projects over the last few days. This is the first weekend of the Mens College World Series and my sister has tickets so my husband and I watched our 2 1/2 year old nephew so that his mom and grandma could take in the games on Saturday. Now I now why the ladies that have children at home have such a hard time blogging every day. By the time they left this morning, I was exhausted and haven't had the energy to much of anything much less card making. So hopefully, tomorrow I will have recovered from the 30 pound tornado that is my Jayden. So I hope that everyone had a good weekend and have a great week!

MOJO MADNESS ON TUESDAY

Hey stampers! Tonight's project uses the Mojo Madness Sketch for this week. If you want this sketch or others, click on the Mojo badge on the left side of my blog. I used Sahara Sand as my card base. The other card stock I used is the specialty card stock To The Nines which is textured card stock. I wasn't really sure I liked this paper until I used it for another project (that you haven't seen). For the stamps, I used the And Many Mower set which I love and hope it makes it into the catalog. I haven't done my preorder yet but I hope to so in the next week or so. I used Timber Brown StazOn for the ink, I colored the 3, "R", and NOW... with my brown watercolor pencil and then went over it with my Glaze pen. I used the small circle design on the Sahara Sand for my mat on the card base. I used the Scallop Circle punch and then punch out another circle using the large circle punch from Fiskars. I stamped "Happy Father's Day" in Timber Brown and adhered the circle to the scallop and then stamped the check list with Timber Brown onto white card stock. I adhered that to one of the paisley Always Artichoke to trim the white and then used the Chocolate Chip medium circle design. I stamped Relax on the inside. I took Chocolate Chip and sponged on the edges of the card. I really like this card because of the masculine look....and sometimes I have trouble with that so this paper works good for me. If you are interested in any of the supplies, shoot me an email because some of them are only available until 6/30/09. Thanks for looking!

It's Monday Already

Good Morning everyone! Today's project is using the sketch from the Midnight Madness crew. I used the Very Versatile set from the Mini Occasions (that is only available until 6/30/09). Plus I used Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, and Pacific Point DSP (I am going to miss these colors). My base is Baja Breeze and it is 5x5. I used the 1 1/4 square punch for the smaller pieces of Pacific Point DSP. I used my Jelly Roll clear Stardust glitter pen to create some sparkle on those. Then I used a strip of solid Pacific Point card stock and then a smaller strip of Pacific Point DSP. The frame for the sentiment is Pacific Point card stock that I ran through my crimper. I stamped the tree from the Very Versatile set in Baja Breeze ink and then sentiment in Basic Black ink onto white card stock. Then I adhered the frame around it and used dimensionals to attach it to the card base. I stamped "thank you!" in the lower right corner in Pacific Point ink. Pretty fast and simple but still makes a nice thank you for someone. Thanks for looking and I will update the last chance accessories later tonight. Have a great day.

Bonus Wednesday

A last chance list and two projects....bonus Wednesday. The first project is a continuation of this post. Tonight I made the Horizontal Tent card. I changed it up a little bit. I made it so that it will open. I had many people that I showed the first one comment about how it should open so I adhered the back of the triangle down and cut part way up the left side of the triangle. I used the Tart & Tangy stamp set with the Summer Picnic DSP. I used Real Red grosgrain ribbon along with Real Red and Glorious Green Stampin' Write markers. On the inside, I wrote with the Glorious Green 'a bunch!' I used my Stardust Jellyroll clear glitter pen to color the 'seeds'. I was going to make a whole set of thank you cards using the Tart & Tangy and this technique but for some reason the second and third tries, I couldn't get the folds right....I will try again another day.

The second project is something I found from one of the first blogs I found. Patty has some awesome ideas on the blog so make sure you check it out. You know how when to go a doctor's office or somewhere else that they put out pens that they don't want to have disappear, there is usually a fake flower of some sort attached. The topper is an improvement on the "fake" look. It is called a Fun Flower Pen. I found this last night and didn't have time before bed to make one so I made sure that I made one tonight. I used the Delicate Dots paper from the Sale a bration catalog this year and the Certainly Celery 5/8 in ribbon from the SAB bundle. The flower 'center' is a large gold brad that I cut the prongs off of and glued to the center. So tomorrow I am taking my new pen to work to use and create envy. And of course, my photos are placed wrong but you get the idea. Thanks for stopping by and have a good night.

Come and create something with me,

Andi

UPDATE

I posted the last chance accessories list and I will update it everyday as I get the updates from the home office. Notice how some things are on sale....those items will go fast so if you have to have it let me know and I will get it for you. I will have a project posted tonight. Have a great Wednesday.

God's Beauty with Mojo

Hey stampers! Today's project is using this week's Mojo Madness sketch and the level 1 hostess set, God's Beauty. I used Basic Grey for the card base (5x5) then I cut Walk in the Park DSP (4 1/2 x 3) and used Basic Grey Taffeta ribbon as a separator. My circle is a piece from the Walk in the Park DSP. I took a 3x3 card and decorated it using the leaves and flower from the God's Beauty set. I stamped the leaves in Kiwi Kiss and the flowers in Cameo Coral. I added clear glitter pen to the flower centers. Then I stamped the butterfly in VersaMark on Glossy paper. Heat embossed with Black embossing powder. Then I colored the butterfly using my Prisma color markers in Yellow Orange, Orange, and Red Poppy. Then I added Yo-Yo Yellow and Cameo Coral colors. I think it makes a the butterfly bold and almost appears real. On the inside of the 3x3 card, I stamped the sentiment from the set. Sometimes ideas for the sketches take me a while and today the idea just flowed right onto the card stock. I will use this sketch again and probably change it up a little. Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.

I have some updates on the Last Chance List....the following stamps were removed from the last chance list and will be available from the dormant list for the 2009-2010 catalog.
