I have you under my spell

Hey stampers!  Tonight I bring you a technique that is called "Black Magic".  I have seen it before but this is the first time that I have tried it myself.  I used Baroque Motifs and a two step stamp set that is a retired Stampin' UP! set.  On the first picture to the left, I used the swirl and the little daisy.  Okay first you need a piece of black card stock and Whisper White Craft ink-next you need a solid image stamp, this technique will only work with this kind of stamp image.  You will also need your water color pencils, your heat emboss gun, and a dry paper towel-this is to wipe off the tip of you water color pencil because sometimes the craft ink with rub off onto the pencil and make it hard to color your image. When . Ok, now we are ready to rock and roll.  First ink up the solid image that you want to use with the craft ink, stamp your image on the black card stock.  Then take your heat gun and wave it over your image until the ink sets, don't skip this step because the craft ink takes a looooooooooooooong time to dry so this will speed up your process.  Once you have your image dry, pick out the colors that you want to use to color your image.  The pencils I used are metallic pencils that Stampin' UP! use to carry but any water color pencil will work.  Color your images and then assembly your card.  Now on the card on the bottom right, I did the same technique but with a two step stamp set.  I learned this techinque from
Dawn Griffith's site.  You use all the same supplies the only difference is that once you have finished coloring your solid image, you take the outline image and stamp over what you colored.  I did use my gun to set the ink.  I also used my scallop oval punch and scallop border punch on this bottom card.  Both of these cards are gorgeous in real life.  So if have the craft whisper white and black card stock and a solid image stamp, you can do this technique.  Thanks for stopping by.

New Site and another new card

Hey stampers!  I have another new card for you tonight.  This card was made using a digital image.  I discovered this new site a couple of weeks ago and I love it.  It is called Bugaboo Stamps.  From this site you can click on the "blog" and it will take you to a blog where you can see card ideas and every Friday, Jodie (from Bugaboo) posts a freebie on the blog and the Bugaboo site.  This particular image was a freebie a couple of weeks.  This is Deacon and his bear and I printed Deacon on water color paper and used my Prismacolor Markers to color him.  I added some glitter to the leaves and his shirt.  I used my black glaze pen to give depth to the eyes on Deacon and the eyes and nose on the bear and the footprints on the bear.  I used my Spellbinders to create the yellow and green shapes ( and don't remember the name of this Spellbinder).  I wrote "I'm here" on yellow card stock and edged it with more to create depth again.  I used a ribbon that I had laying around.  There are tiny little daisies on it.  And the colors are green and yellow for the card stock something out of a 'scrap pack' that I bought.  Sorry the picture isn't very good but I really need a new camera...maybe an early anniversart present, anyhoo, on the inside of the card I wrote, "if you need a hand".  This is going to be a 'thinking of you' card for my sisters friend.  I am just excited that I found my mojo again. So if you like Deacon, head over and visit Jodie and the gang at Bugaboo, you won't be disappointed.   Thanks for checking in. MOJO has been found!

Hey stampers!  I have been struggling with my mojo for a while now.  But a friend of my sister ordered some cards so I think I have found my mojo again and so I have a new card for you.  This card is a combination of things.  I have used some new SU colors with some non SU stuff and some old SU stuff.  I went to my local Hobby Lobby this week, yes I said Hobby Lobby.  I found a background stamp with words on it and it was ON SALE!  So I snapped it up.  This card uses Rich Razzleberry, a soft yellow, the new stamp which is called Le London script.  I stamped that on the yellow with Rich Razzleberry, then I took my sanding block and went back and forth over my stamped image.  Once I had the effect I wanted, I took a sponge and sponged on some Rich Razzleberry ink lightly across the image and the darker around the edges of the yellow.  Then I have this old scrapbooking kit that I bought at a Stampin' UP! demonstrator garage sale,  I took the sticker of this little girl on the beach.  I trimmed off as much of the white sticker as I could and then sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink placed the sticker on the yellow card stock.  Then I have some random ribbon (who doesn't) and I did a layer of plum color satin ribbon that is 5/8" wide and then I took a white ribbon and layered that onto the plum color.  I did a cheater bow on the white and snipped the ends.  Then I adhered that to a piece of Rich Razzleberry and then I adhered that panel to a piece of barely banana cardstock and took Rich Razzleberry ink and sponged the edges around the razzleberry panel.  On the inside of the card, I stamped "thinking about you because you are so nice to think about."  I love it and I several more of these stickers and hopefully you will be seeing more in this style but I will have some new stuff for you every day this week. So thanks for hanging in there with me.
