Hey stampers! I have a new project for you tonight but before I show what I got, I want to let you know to that Stampin'UP! has a new promotion going right now. I have added a link to my sidebar to take you to flyer. If you place an order for this stamp set with me, I will give you an extra entry into my blog candy giveaway. Want to earn it for free, send me an email at stampcrz30@yahoo.com and we can schedule your workshop. On to my project for today. I have needed several Sympathy cards lately and I have to tell you that they are my least favorite card to make but I think that they should still be nice looking. I made a card for husband to take for his boss, who just lost her cousin to cancer and the second one is for a coworker of mine that lost her grandmother. The first card uses just "Close as a Memory" stamp set. I used Pacific Point which was last year's In Color, I know it is retired but I hear rumors of a come back....stay tuned for more on that. I used Soft Sky which is also a retired color, no grumblings about that one. I used the new Scallop border punch for the bottom of the Soft Sky piece. I stamped the flower image from the stamp set in Pacific Point ink, I loaded my stamp with ink, and I stamped off before stamping onto my card stock. I did that a couple of times. I put two silver brads in top right corner and stamped, "With Heartfelt Sympathy" in bottom right corner with Pacific Point ink again.
For the other card, I used More Mustard as my base, with a rectangle of Old Olive, I used a piece of green ribbon, and I used the Close as a Memory set as well as "Very Versatile" this set is retired, it was from a mini from last year. I used the tree image from that set to make a background on the More Mustard. I attached my green ribbon and then used dimensionals to attach the Old Olive piece. I stamped the flower image from the Close as a Memory set in Versa mark on the Olive card stock. I stamped it several times. Then I stamped the "With heartfelt Sympathy" in black Staz On. I used 6 silver square brads in a line under the the Old Olive piece. I think for sympathy cards that they turned out pretty well but I am hoping to go longer than a week before having to make more. Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment and get entered in to my blog candy which I am drawing the winner on Saturday.
Come and create something with me,
Andi
