LAZY LABOR DAY

Hey stampers!  I hope you are having a stress free holiday.  I have been pretty lazy today.  Went and did some errands with my sister and made dinner.  The project I am sharing tonight almost 100% products from the new Holiday Mini.  I used the Delightful Decorations stamp set, Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper, soft suede card stock, real red card stock, and the greetings are from Snow Swirled.  I stamped the ornaments in Real Red ink onto white card stock.  I popped one up with a dimensional.  The greeting on the front is framed by a crimped piece of Real Red and smooth Soft Suede.  The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede ink.  The card style is something I found on Splitcoast Stampers.  Of course, when I went back to find to give credit, I couldn't so just know that someone else came up with the rounded top.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for stopping by.

READY FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Hey fellow stampers, happy Friday!  Tonight's project was actual fast and quick so you could produce a lot in a short period of time.  I used plain white card stock, Soft Suede ink, Fresh Cuts stamp set, crystal effects, and a large grommet.  This is 3x3 note card that I made.  I am going to make about 4 in each of the new In-Color inks and so I can  start giving thank-you's to my customer when they place an order with me.  I stamped the branches first.  I started with the center, then did the left one, and finished with the right one.  I stamped "Thank You"  at the top.  When I was looking at it, I decided it needed something to give it a little POP!  So I added a large grommet (even though, I don't consider it a large one that is what the package says).  I added the grommet in the area where the ends of the branches kind of meet.  Then I decided to step it up a little more and added Crystal Effects to the inside of the grommet.  It adds a nice bit of something extra.  It is clean and simple.  And I have added my own little hand made 'watermark'  until I can figure out how to do it on my photos.  Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.  Leave a comment and let me know how you think I am doing.

GOLD DELIGHTFUL DECORATIONS

Hey stampers!  My project tonight uses the Delightful Decorations set from the new Holiday Mini.  It also uses Heard from the Heart (111644).  I did a gate-fold card, the base is Soft Suede.  Then I used new Christmas Cocoa DSP.  The design I used tonight has snowflakes.  I put the DSP on the two panels of the gate fold.  I stamped "welcome christmas into your heart"  in Soft Suede ink in the center of the main inside panel.  I used 6 gold nail head stickers that I had on hand that I picked up at my local hobby store.  I put 3 in the upper right corner and 3 in the lower left corner.  I stamped the "Joy" ornament onto white card stock using the Gold Encore ink pad and punched it out with the new ornament punch from the Holiday Mini.  On the left side I coiled some random gold metallic cross-stitch floss that I had in my neglected cross-stitching supplies.  I attached the punch to a piece of Soft Suede and snowflake DSP with a Stampin' dimensional.  I am loving this set and this paper.  I will hopefully be back to Halloween cards in a couple of days but you will be seeing more Christmas cards.    I also have some exciting news.  I belong to a demonstrators only group called Late Night Stampers, and one of the founders of the group was offering to spotlight demonstrators on her blogs, yes blogs, I have 3 bookmarked that I check myself.   Anyway, she sent emails to the demonstrators/artists asking them to find   themselves on her blogs and make sure the link to their blogs worked....SHE PICKED ME!!!!! A little excited, you can see me on Sherrill's blog.  This is a huge honor for me because the person that recruited Sherrill into Stampin' UP! was Shelli Gardner, co-founder of Stampin' UP!,  so extremely pumped.  So thanks for stopping by.

MORE MINI GOODIES

Good Morning stampers!  Today's project is very similar to yesterday's with the exception that I am in love with the way I did the tree on this one.  It is the same basic layout as the one I posted last night except I used Real Red as the outline layer and Glorious Green for the "tree".  I stamped the Decorations from the Delight Decorations set from the new Holiday Mini. I used all the decoration stamps except for the to/from one that is in the set.  The card base is Soft Suede card stock.  The DSP that I used is the new specialty paper called Christmas Cocoa (#116770).  You can kind of tell in the picture but this particular design has a metallic sheen to it.  There are four double sided designs and two single sided designs that are "flocked".  I will have more with this paper in the next couple of days.  Again, the trunk is Soft Suede card stock sent through the crimper. The Real Red layer was crimped as well.  I used a piece of silver cord that I had in my wrapping supplies to give a little pop of color and to hide a little booboo.  The one thing that I did do differently is the top layer, I turned the punched out ornament the opposite way to create a 'tree top' effect.  I am so stinkin' happy with this design that I think this will be at least one of the cards I make for my personal Christmas Cards this year.  Please leave a comment telling me what you think.  Thanks for looking!

2009 HOLIDAY MINI KICKOFF

Hey stampers!  Today's project is a card I made and designed using a new punch, jumbo wheel, and stamp set from the Holiday Mini that went live today!  I made my Christmas tree from the new Ornament Punch (#116794) using Green Galore card stock.  I used VersaMark Ink and Iridescent Ice embossing powder to create the glitter background that I made using the Sparkle & Shine jumbo wheel (#116542).  I did a three tier tree with two layers.  The bottom layer is plain Green Galore ran through the Fiskars crimper that Stampin' UP! sells.  I used a Square of Soft Suede for the trunk, that was also ran through the crimper.  I used the Merry Christmas and snowflake stamp from the Delightful Decorations (#116517).  I stamped the "Merry Christmas and the snowflake in Real Red ink on the Real Red card stock base around the top of the tree.  The "star"  is 3 small stars punched out of Yo-Yo Yellow card stock and added some coarse glitter that I had on hand.  I don't really like the star.  This is the first project I have ever created by making something out of one or two punched images.  I will another card tomorrow using some of the same things and some more new things out of the new mini.  Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

Something Different

Hey Fellow Stampers!  I decided to post something different tonight.  Mainly because my best friend asked me to make some thank you notes for her.  If you follow my blog, you know that my best friend is studying to be a pharmacist.  She just started her first year of Pharmacy school.  The college does a "white coat ceremony" for all entering first year students.  Alumni from the College of Pharmacy contribute to make it possible for the incoming students to get the coats.  So she wants thank you notes for her two sponsors.  I told her of course I would whip something up for her.  I made one that is a little more masculine and one with brighter colors that would be appropriate to give to a female.  The first card I made uses a stamp from the Eight Great Greetings set (#113822).  The card base is Soft Suede (#115318) and I used a new technique that I found from a fellow Stampin' UP demo, Lee.  The white piece of card  stock is 4 x 5 1/4 and was sent through my crimper (#101618) to create the wavy look.  The center diamond is also white card stock that is rubbed with Crushed Curry ink (#115659).  The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede ink (#115657).  To create the color splash around the crimped edges I first stamped the image with Crushed Curry ink and then went over it a second time using Soft Suede ink.  I think this adds some character to the edges.  Here is a photo of the first card:

Okay the second and third cards also use the new In Colors.  But I used the Fresh Cuts (#111634) set.  The first card uses Melon Mambo card stock (#115320) for the base, white card stock, and the images is stamped in Melon Mambo ink (#115656), and finally I used Basic Grey Taffeta ribbon (#109064).  The design for the image on this one was cased from this talented lady, Raquel.  Here is a photo of card #2.

Finally, card #3 uses Bermuda Bay card stock (#115317) and ink (#115655), again I used Basic Grey Taffeta ribbon (#109064).  I used the same two stamps on this one but I set the card layout up differently.  Here is the photo for card #3:

Are you sick of Halloween cards yet?

In case, you didn't figure it out.  I am using another Dustin Pike image.  I love it.  This Halloween is so cute.  I used my watercolor pencils to color the images.  The card stock is, of course, Stampin' UP!  I used the 1 3/8 circle punch to create the opening over the pumpkin O.  On the front of the card, I used the "scary spider" wheel which I think is retired. The "happy"  is from the Happy Everything set.  I stamped it in Dusty Durango ink onto white card stock and framed it with elegant eggplant.  The card base is perfect plum.  To create the opening, I punch the circle once and then went slightly higher and punch it again, and to be honest lucked out that it looks good.  I adhered the "halloween to inside bottom of the card base.  The base is 8 1/2x11 card stock folded horizontally and I cut about 3 inches off but  I didn't write down the exact measurements.  I will post them later.  I hope you are enjoying the new images, mainly because I have like 3 more Halloween ones to show.  Thanks for looking.  Let me know what you think.
