More thank yous
Hey stampers! These are the thank you notes I promised you the other day and then I got distracted by Mother's Day and such so I hope every one had a fabulous Mother's Day. Theses thank yous use the Eight Great Greetings set that is currently in the IBAC. I used Real Red and Basic Black ink. I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla card stock and then punched it out with my scallop oval punch. I did use some retired DSP. The top one uses the retired Summer Picnic and the other one uses the Walk in the Park. I used Basic Grey Taffeta ribbon on the Walk in the Park card. These projects show how you can use the same layout and still make different cards. Everyone loved the cards and I am on to my next project which is a shower gift. I will show pictures when I am all done but it isn't a card. So stay tuned. Thanks for stopping by.

Awash with Flowers for Mom
Hey Stampers! This is the mother's day card that I made for my mother in law. I used the Awash with Flowers set that was a sneak peek in April for the new catalog in July. When I first saw this set, I thought what would I do with that...and then I saw some of the cards and things my fellow demos were making and just had to have it. The other night, I was visiting the blog of the wonderful Jan Tink and she had a new technique video called Burnishing. She used a sponge dauber and I don't have clean ones so I decided to try it with the regular stamping sponges. I think the daubers probably give you more control of applying the color but I love the way this looks. The big "MOM" is from a set that was just in the last mini occasions catalog. On the inside I stamped "sending extra love your way" and "Happy Mother's Day!" I used bright colors and stamped the outlines in Staz-On Jet Black and used the Glossy white card stock. I edged the sides of the card with Rich Razzleberry ink and think that adds just a little bit to the whole look like Jan says in her video. So I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

March of Dimes Thank you notes
Hey stampers! Tonight's projects are two of the cards I made for the people who donated to my March of Dimes..March for Babies walk which was the last Sunday in April. It was a 3 mile walk at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, NE. It wasn't the nicest day but my sister and I finished in a little over an hour and we weren't the last ones to cross the finish line. I had four donations for a total of $65. I didn't need to collect money because my employer donated money to cover the cost of the walkers from our company and "fund" raising for us but this is such an important cause that I felt I should try to raise additional monies. Ok, enough preaching here is the first card. I saw a card on someone's desk at work and liked the simple layout so I copied the general layout. A plain card with a splash of color. I used Very Vanilla card stock, Perfect Plum card stock and ink. I used the Oval All stamp set and the Scallop Oval punch. The ribbon on this card is something I left over and is the only non SU item. I love this ribbon because it takes on the color of the card stock that you put it against. On the Perfect Plum card stock, I stamped a couple flowers from the Awash with Flowers (which is available to all July 1st.) with Perfect Plum Ink. I adhered the Perfect Plum down the center of my card base and then stamped the "thank you" from the Oval All twice. Once on vanilla card stock with Perfect Plum ink and once on Perfect Plum card stock with the same ink. I used the Scalloped oval punch on the Perfect Plum image. On the vanilla image, I cut out around the dotted line and adhered it to the Perfect Plum oval and then popped it up on the card with dimensionals over the ribbon.
Then next card uses the same basic pattern just different papers, ribbon, and ink. On this card I used the retired Raspberry Tart Designer paper, some retired ribbon and some pink buttons that were non SU. I used the same stamp from the Oval All set and Melon Mambo ink. I popped the image with dimensionals on the designer paper. I have two more that I will show everyone tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by.
